How many pounds to go again?

"NON" TO THE DUKAN DIET

A few years ago, Pierre Dukan came up with a protein-based diet which caused a lot of controversy due to its unusual methods approaching weight loss. He was struck off the medical register earlier this year after announcing his ideas concerning weight loss among school children. I tried the Dukan diet last year, which resulted in me fainting and getting nauseous all the time. Apart from the 6 pounds that I lost in two weeks and gained back in three, I regret to tell you that I'm very much against the practice of this unhealthy diet followed by many celebrities including Kate Middleton, Jennifer Lopez, Gisele Bundchen and Penelope Cruz.

You can check out the Dukan Diet website if you who want to know more about the Dukan Diet. But I don't recommend it to anyone.

So why is the Dukan diet bad for you?

Heart diseases. Due to its high protein intake, your cholesterol levels increase which may lead to heart diseases.

You are too tired to exercise.
Everyone knows that exercise is the key to weight loss but I was too tired to even eat my grilled chicken breast. How could I run for 40 minutes in that case?

Yo-yo dieting. As I said, I lost 6 pounds but I gained everything back (and I also gained an additional 6 pounds).

It's expensive. Not everyone can afford to eat a t-bone steak for dinner during months.

Damage to internal organs. Burning fat instead of carbs puts an additional burden on your kidneys and liver.

Bad breath and smelly urine. I know this is disgusting but I would brush my teeth 5 times and still have bad breath. Can you imagine not wanting to pee because you know it 's going to smell gross?

Weight loss is not easy and if that means that one has to try every way possible to succeed, then so be it. Good luck to those who are still keen on giving it a try.

I'm on a diet. Again.
I have never really been skinny and I don't think I'll ever be able to accomplish that. And that's basically because I love food too much. But I have been dieting since I was 11 years old, I gave up drinking normal coke when I was 10, I only eat fast food once a year and only if requested by a friend. I am 5'5'' which is 165 cms and I don't even know how much I weigh because it changes all the time. I gained the freshman 15, and when I returned home I lost some of it, but then I gained it back again. But to give a number, I think my weight is around 140 pounds which is 64 kilos.

So, I decided that I will weigh myself tomorrow morning and start a real diet.
